What are Etiquettes?
Etiquette (pronounced [,eti'ket]) is a code of behavior that delineates expectations for social behavior according to contemporary conventional norms within a society, social class, or group. The French word, signifying ticket (of admission, etc.) first appeared in English in 1750.[1]

Some more definitions of Etiquettes:

  • The practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority.
  • The customs or rules governing behaviour regarded as correct or acceptable in social or official life.
  • A conventional but unwritten code of practice followed by members of any of certain professions or groups.
  • Rules governing socially acceptable behavior.
  • Rules for correct or polite behaviour between people, or within certain professions.
  • The practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority.
  • The rules of decorous behavior. In a professional sense this includes behavior towards clients and colleagues which is in the best interests of the patients.
  • Good manners.
  • Etiquette has to do with good manners. It's not so much our own good manners, but making other people feel comfortable by the way we behave.
  • The conduct or procedure required by good breeding or prescribed by authority to be observed in social or official life.
  • Conventional requirements as to social behavior; proprieties of conduct as established in any class or community or for any occasion.
  • A prescribed or accepted code of usage in matters of ceremony, as at a court or in official or other formal observances.
  • The code of ethical behavior regarding professional practice or action among the members of a profession in their dealings with each other.
